As reported yesterday on Chabad Info, Dr. Gavriel Avital was dismissed of his post as head scientist at Israel’s Education Ministry after he expressed doubts about the theory of evolution. Shliach in Sydney Rabbi Daniel Kaye, revealed studies conducted by his late father-in-law Professor Michoel Hasofer … //
… In a report to Chabad Info, Rabbi Kaye wrote that he was outraged by the decision.
“It is shocking news that of all places, only in Israel, the land of the Jews, is it forbidden to voice a dissenting view to popular science (which actually as per the above is very unscientific, more like science fiction) and a chief scientist of Israel was actually fired from his position for voicing his personal view, held by many top scientists in the world, who clearly see that science is no longer a contradiction to Judaism and the belief in a creator of heaven and earth,” Rabbi Kaye said.
Rabbi Kaye’s late father-in-law, Professor Avrohom Michoel Hasofer, Emeritus Professor of Statistics at the University of New South Wales in Australia, who passed away last year, wrote a detailed report disproving the entire theory scientifically.
A former self-proclaimed atheist, Professor Hasofer spent much time building a sharp response to the zealots of Darwinism, which was later printed in the B’or Hatorah Journal.
His opinion is shared by many scientists of great note across the globe.
His report has yet to be disproved. (full text).
